Aaron Rhodes Kansas obliteration at its most obliterating. Favorite track: Hunger and Haunt.

Joe Yoksh The more primal moments from Neurosis, but so much more clandestine and razor-sharp. As opposed to the former's "beat you to death with riffs" approach (which I still love), Drifter's concise songwriting distills the sludgey post-metal formula even further.

This raw, fun EP is a promising look at what's to come! Favorite track: Hunger and Haunt.

Tyler Affinito I hope I bought this before Santos from Old Man Gloom

The Tide 07:36
Feel my decay Like a shore that's washed away Breathe in the sea I can feel her calling me Stare in the deep Feel the rage wash over me Rhythm of escape Gravity I cannot break Willing to erode For the abstract of a home Promise of a life Burned to ash and dust Battered cold and lone Need a shelter from the storm I've no reason left to stay Strike a match and walk away Drown me in despair Suffocating waves Pull me in again Please let me leave Taken by the sea Taken by the sea Taken by the sea Taken by the sea Taken by the sea Taken by the sea Taken by the sea Taken by the sea Taken by the sea Reach out for me

about

In the spring of 2022, DRIFTER made an impromptu recording at the historic Liberty Hall theater in Lawrence, KS. The session was recorded live, in a single continuous take, engineered by Aaron Miller with vocal recording, mixing, and mastering done by Eric Graves at the Gravy Cave (ROMAN NUMERALS, ANAKIN, THE ESOTERIC). The resulting songs comprise the band’s debut mini-EP.

On ‘HERALD’ DRIFTER blends dark ambiance, primal noise and rhythmic thunder with crescendos of massive riffs and gnarled melody. ‘HERALD’ is an apocalyptic foreshadowing of things to come!

"rife with heady noise and thundering venom...past big riff sludge and instead...slowly-building and fiercely erupting post-metal in the immersive style of Neurosis. Dark, eerie, beautiful." - TooMuchRock.com
